Gordana Oreščanin was born in Croatia and started her dance career with classical ballet at the age of 5. She enjoyed a successful youth career in rhythmic gymnastics and became the Croatian champion.
Later, Gordana graduated as a programmer and sports professor from the University of Novi Sad.
In 1993, she founded the University Dance Sport Club, which later became her dance school, Viva Dance. In 1994, she introduced the first Contemporary Dance Festival at the National Theatre in Novi Sad, which then became a traditional annual event.
She was a judge for two seasons on the popular Serbian TV show 'Plesom do snova' (the Serbian version of 'Dancing with the Stars').
Today, Gordana is busy with her dance school, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. She also works with students at the Faculty of Sports. We'll be able to see her as a judge at this year's Rolly Dane Open in May 2024 at Dvorana Tabor in Maribor.
Her sharp eye will surely spot the talents of young dancers.
